The Tip Calculator app is designed to be intuitive, and easy to use. the user should not require much instruction before using, and if you find this to be the case then I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks!
The Calculator
When opening the app for the first time, the app will be ready for use right away. To enter in a bill amount just tap on the orange text area underneath the label “Bill: (Pre-tax)”. A keyboard will show allowing you to enter the bill amount. Press “Done” when ready, and the app instantly displays the total bill amount including tip and tax, as well as the bill including just the tax. The app also calculates the total bill as would be shared among your friends and colleagues. Values can be added or removed in “Settings”. To calculate the tip before you add the tax, turn the “Tip before tax” switch to “On”.
To change the Tax and Tip amounts, and the party size, select the required amounts as appropriate with the picker wheels in the middle of the page.
If differing currencies are selected on the “Settings” page, the “Calculator” page will also contain a currency toggle switch. Use this to toggle between the two currencies you selected on the “Settings” page.
Press “Save” to save the bill information to history.
History
Previously saved bills will be shown on this page.
Each bill item will show its currency flag, if more than one currency is featured in the bill history list. If the list contains bills in the same currency, no flags will be displayed.
To delete a bill record, swipe the record to the right, and a red delete button will show.
An email summary of bills can be sent by tapping the “Email” button.
Settings
The “Settings” screen enables you to select the “Local” and the “Home” currency. The local currency is the currency that you would use initially to enter in the bill amount, and is often the currency used in your current location. The “Home” currency is the currency that you would use at home, or at your place of business. The top world currencies are already featured, but Tip Calculator will also determine your location and will download further currency data if necessary.
It is also possible to add preferred “Split”, “Tax %” and “Tip %” values for use for calculating your bill. Swipe right to delete a value, and tap the blue “+” button to add an item.
